In celebration of National Library Week 2024, Hoboken Public Library invites all Hoboken residents ages 5+ to submit a design to our Library Card Contest!
We have three separate contests for different age groups:
- Youth Contest (ages 5-11): BookBike Library Card! The winning design will be featured on new library cards that will be distributed exclusively at the BookBike.
- Teen Contest (ages 12-17): Kawaii Library Card! The winning design will be featured on new library cards that will be distributed exclusively in the Teen Room.
- Adult Contest (ages 18+): Banned Books Card! The winning design will be featured on new library cards that will be distributed for a limited time at all library locations.
You can submit a design digitally using our submission forms for kids, teens, and adults, or you can print out/pick up a paper submission form and return it to the library.
Contest rules:
- You must be a Hoboken resident and Hoboken Public Library cardholder to participate.
- Limit one entry per artist.
- Designs should be original artwork and must not violate or infringe upon copyrighted material.
- Artwork can be created digitally or by hand.
- The design may be edited to conform to library card specifications, and our logo may be used/added to the design.
Submissions will be accepted through April 30.
One winner in each category will be selected by library staff based on originality, audience appeal, and interpretation of the theme. The winners and 2 runners-up in each category will be announced in May 2024 and will receive prizes!
